The Kenyan girls celebrating non-FGM rite


Millions of women around the world are living with the effects of female genital mutilation (FGM), despite years of campaigns against the harmful practice.

But among the Kalenjin in Kenya, FGM is slowly fading away, and an alternative rite of passage to being cut has been introduced.

The BBC's Anne Soy reports from Itenn in western Kenya.
