A Syrian family accepted for asylum in the UK have been left waiting for more than a year in Lebanon after their relocation plans were cancelled twice.
In a statement the Home Office said: "Not all referrals from the UNHCR [United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees] lead to resettlement in the UK... The decision whether or not to grant exit permission is a matter for the host country."
